Within our extensive experience of providing architectural models, we’ve created a wealth of buildings in a large variety of sizes we’ve seen a variety of reasons why architects, builders and investors love scale models.
If you’re wondering about the benefits of using models in your presentation, the following five are all advantages of the use of an architectural model:
1. A real interpretation
Whilst many designers still use 2D and 3D models, and whilst of course these both have several merits, they fail to give an overall picture of how the finished project might appear. Within a 2/3D model, it is difficult to give an idea of how it will look in its’ new habitat or how the sunlight will fall onto the building. Having a scale model in front of you as you discuss your design enables you to tell the full story and pitch a design which your clients will love.
One of the many reasons why our customers return again and again is because of the success their model brought to them. It can often be difficult to discuss your ideas with customers, clients or would-be investors without a real world interpretation of the design. However, a scale model gives a strong representation which invites questions as well as real interest.
3. Work in Progress
Models can be used throughout the process to give those people who can’t see the building or structure coming to fruition in order to demonstrate how the project is progressing and what the next stage might be.
4. Discussion Point
In many cases, you may not be able to see all of the people you need to show a design to at the same time and without a model, you may have had to rely on those people you had pitched to to sell your design in your absence. However, with a model you can leave with clients as a talking point, you no longer have such a problem.
At the end of the project, either you or your client get to retain the model image of your hard work as a lasting souvenir.
